Share Your World 2015 – Week 49

Here are my answers to Cee’s Share your World – week 49

What would be your ideal birthday present, and why?

In a perfect world the best gift I could get would be the ability to turn back the clock so that the day I almost died had never happened. Or at the very least having a 100% healthy heart so I could go back to living a totally normal life again, but that’s not very likely.

I don’t need any new toys,  so I a nice evening out with my Honey would suit me fine, unless of course anyone wants to give me tickets to Wimbledon 😀

What color would you like your bedroom to be?

It already is the exact colors I wanted. Cream/beige and dark chocolate. Muted earth-tones that are more masculine than most women would have agreed to, but my wife let me go with my hunch that it would work well with our bedroom furniture and it really does.

Would you prefer snowy winters, or not, and why?

Winter in these parts means snow is always part of the equation. However, what most people who haven’t experienced it don’t know is that snow usually means milder temps – relatively speaking, of course.

When it’s sunny and clear in winter is when it gets bitter cold, and I really don’t handle extreme temperatures very well anymore. So I’ll take a snowy winter over a super cold one any day.

And besides, it looks prettier too, especially around the holidays 🙂

Would you rather go a week without bathing, but be able to change your clothes, or a week without a change of clothes, but be able to bathe?

I absolutely positively could not go an entire week without bathing. Luckily my work is generally not very physical so even after a week I don’t think my clothes would be unbearable.

Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?

Last week I handed in my final assignment for the last course I needed to complete a diploma in journalism that I started chipping away at in 2012. So I’m really happy about that. I’ll take the winter session off and I’ll be back in class in the spring for more photography courses.

We also spent the weekend spoiling my mom to celebrate a milestone birthday for her. A nice group supper at her favorite restaurant on Saturday and then a sleepover and Sunday brunch at our house with family and friends. She enjoyed, so I think we did good.

Next week is my last full work week before the Christmas break. I’m looking forward to completing a couple of important year end projects and tidying up some loose ends before I get ten consecutive days off.

Thanks to Cee for organizing these prompts and challenges. I don’t always have time to play along every week, but it sure is fun to read other people’s answers.

Thanks for reading 🙂

I was sorry to learn of your heart condition, Norm. I also was happy you have an understanding wife who let’s you choose the bedroom colors. 🙂 Also a mother who reached a milestone and you are a man who respects and loves her. I can read between the lines. . .
The answers each revealed new facets to yourself. Happy to hear also about your coursework in journalism being completed and congratulations on earning a diploma!

Norm, thanks so much for your comment. I hear you about when it is not snowing (raining for me) it is COLD. Although your cold I’m sure is colder than ours. Thanks for sharing.

Quite nice list for gratitude this last week 🙂 Congrats on your journalism progress!
I find those creamy colors are about as warm as I can go before I feel jarred, so I certainly think they work well in bedrooms — cozy!

Thanks Joey. Over the years Honey has always let me choose the paint colors for the house, which I know is kinda rare. My main concern is making sure she never regrets it; I just need to make sure the place doesn’t end up looking too much like a hunting lodge and I think it’ll be okay 😉

  6. Norm, I enjoyed learning a bit more about you, although I’m sad to have to learn that there was a day you almost died. I’m thankful for “almost”, though. I love snow in winter, so I’m definitely with you on that. I much prefer it to rain, at least in winter.

Thanks Janet. It’s all good; I’m in good hands with regular follow-up so other than having to slow down and learning to pace myself, life has been very good all the same. And winter without snow – that would just be sad.
