I got a notification from your blog asking how everybody was doing, but when I followed the link I got a Page Not Found. It’s unkind to tease me like that! 🙂

Sorry, it was a test post while trying to figure out how use the ‘Block-head’ editor – which I hate with every fiber of my existence but no longer have the option to ignore!
I wasn’t deliberately trying to be a blog-tease, I just forgot about WP sending out notifications 😉

LOL! Dan has generously added a section to his blog with help on Block-head editor. I started using it as soon as they said it was coming, just so I’d be ready for the inevitable. I don’t like it as much as “classic”, but I still mourn the demise of DOS and WordPerfect for DOS, so….

Hello, Norm! It was the wonderful Marla On The Move who nudged us in the direction of your blog. We are door-lovers, of course, so it makes perfect sense to start there. Well, come for the doors, stay for the Ice Hotel, and so much more. Very interesting blog, we are looking forward to doing a bit more reading in days to come.
Stay safe and keep up the great work!!

Anyway, thanks for following OMBH – I hope you find a few smiles when you’re visiting…
Also, should you need further distraction from your already hectic program… do have a look at the blog’s right widget bar… there you’ll find links to my short stories!
Thanks again! 🙂

Thank you for the lovely photo of the St Andrew’s-Chalmers Presbyterian church in Uxbridge. I would like to use it in promotional material for our charity, the Heart to Heart Healing Centre that we run at that church. So I am writing to ask you for permission. Would appreciate hearing back from you. Thank you so much! Annette

Thanks for reaching out but I’m not sure I understand your request. I have never been to Uxbridge so I doubt that the image you are referring to is one of mine. Can you please reply with a link to the post you found it on? This would help point me in the right direction. Thank you.

Thank you for replying so quickly. I realized afterwards that it wasn’t your photo but one taking by another lady who had posted. This is the link to it: https://mylifelivedfull.wordpress.com/2018/02/23/battle-of-the-saints/amp/

Fair enough then. I suspected it was someone else’s photo. I’m sure you can reach her through her blog. If there’s anything else I can do please let me know. Regards.

Hi Norm,
I love the title of your blog, although I’m wondering what happened to version 2.1. I belong to a flash fiction group Friday Fictioneers, where a lot of bad things happen to characters and their associates. I think it’s making me more suspicious. Here’s a link: https://rochellewisoff.com/2018/08/08/10-august-2018/
Am looking forward to taking part in your door challenge.
Best wishes,
Rowena

Hi Norm. Thanks for the ‘like’. This looks like an interesting place, if only I had time to stick around. I will come back, though, BTW, are ‘door lovers’ really ‘a thing’, as the young folks say?

This is quite an inspirational blog! Thank you for your contributions! I had to chuckle a bit when I discovered that I’m already following you on Instagram! Of course I am, and it isn’t a coincidence that I would love your blog as well. I’m looking forward to participating in new ideas that I wasn’t aware of like Thursday Doors and Wordless Wednsedays for starters.
I really appreciate the subtle reminder, that perhaps we all write things that we get bored of from time to time, and in addition, it’s ok to have a modge podge of posts, not all relating to the other! I think sometimes in a quest to write for an “audience”, we can forget to write simply for our own pleasure.

Hi Norm, I have nominated you for The Creative Blogger Award! I bet you are quivering in excitement… or perhaps you might be hitting your head against a wall repeating the phrase “Not another award, not another award!” You don’t have to accept this award, but I would love for you to pop over to my blog and come celebrate! There will be imaginary champagne, disco balls and a drumming cat! What more could one want? Hehe.

Thanks Amanda. Awfully nice of you to think of me but I won’t be doing awards on my blog.
Champagne, disco balls and a drumming cat eh? Sounds like fun. I’ll definitely swing by to check that out later 🙂

I nearly ended up in Montreal, but Canada wouldn’t have us in 1962 before we had spent two years in a western democracy. We came from Yugoslavia. Australia was less afraid of the reds under your bed. Cheers from Sydney 🙂 Irina

Hi Norm – I must have had a brain fart somewhere along the way because I thought I was following your blog until I noticed stuff on your twitter page I’d never seen. After reading several posts on your blog, I realized the omission … now corrected! 🙂

No worries Joanne, I’ve done it before myself. That’s when I don’t inadvertently unfollow someone and then only discovery it days or weeks later.

I’ve also discovered the WP seems to do it to us as well. Other people have complained about it and I finally had it happen to me a few months ago… someone I had followed for months suddenly disappeared from my mailbox.
It’s just one more thing to keep us on our toes 😉

Hi, I was nominated for the Harmony and Peace Award a couple of days ago. I decided, in turn, to nominate your blog since I believe that you deserve this recognition as well… http://naturespeakphotos.wordpress.com/2014/12/10/harmony-peace-award/

Thank you so much but I won’t be doing any awards on my blog.
Please go ahead and pass it on to someone else. Again, I thank you very much for thinking of me 🙂

I respect your decision but won’t be passing it on to anyone else. Either way, it is the thought and spirit of any accolade that matters anyway. Not its actual manifestation. Thank you for your posts which i enjoy very much and hope to continue to do so…

It is nice to be in contact sir. Somehow you found the blog where I write about photography. If you browsed through my posts you will have noticed that, unlike your versatile and multi-topic blog, I only discuss photography.
Now that I know about you I will take the time to wander through your many posts as I get to know you.

Mind you, everything I’ve been reading about successful blogging says that focus on a specific topic is better. We’ll see, I guess.
I hope you’ll find something here that you like.

Hello newest Spikey! I know, a bit corny, eh, but that’s the term that has come to stick for those folk who are part of the clan known to be followers of Uncle Spike 🙂
Thank you… I really appreciate that as I for one, know how many interesting and entertaining blogs are out there.
My aim is to deliver an eclectic offering of posts, from my ‘point n shoot’ attempts at basic photography, to the sharing of my travel adventures over the decades, as well as day to day happenings here on the farm. Oh, plus a few observations on life as I see it, thrown in for good measure.
My promise to you is not to be overbearing, just a couple of posts a day, maybe 3 at weekends if I have something special to share. But if you are at a loose end one day, maybe you’ll enjoy trawling through some of my older stuff too. I have added plenty of categories to help in said digging process.
Thanks again and hope you have a great day…
