More of Montréal’s Ruelles Vertes #9
And we continue exploring in Montreal’s Plateau Mont-Royal neighbourhood.
Note: These shots were captured about a month ago. The leaves have all fallen now.
Do I see toys?
Yes! One of my favourite things about these green laneways: residents have made them a safe place for kids to play.
But we’re here for the doors, right?
Hard to believe that these next 2 come from opposite ends of the same laneway.
And these were all found somewhere in-between.
As always I thank you for looking 🙂

Very happy green laneways. I love the colors and the toys that promise laughter and joy.

Thanks Brenda. Looking at the toy shots I could almost hear the children laughing and playing 🙂

Toys, basketball hoop, library and that amazing rainbow, all good signs. All well to you too.

That rainbow fence is fantastic! A number of favourites here: the little door on the book-swap, the colourful toys in the leaf strewn alley, the creative graffiti… My contribution this week is https://americanfoodieabroad.wordpress.com/2020/11/06/doors-of-st-andrew/ Not so much doors, but doorways.

Another little library!! I also like the fence that looks like Tom Sawyer started painting it in colors and then had to run off to go fishing with Huck. 🙂 I also know now why my parents (living in Arizona) would exclaim about how many trees there were when they’d visit us in Ohio. 🙂

Thanks Janet. Yes these neighbourhoods are blessed with an abundance of big old beautiful trees, mostly oak and maple 🙂

This made me so happy Norm, with it’s colour and it’s small library and a street where the children can play safely.
Here is mine for this week … a bit melancholy.

It’s great to see any city street safe for child play. One of the garage doors made me think of painting it with chalk paint and providing chalk for a tic tac toe game. Here’s my post for this Thursday: https://wheatsaltwineoil.wordpress.com/2020/11/05/along-the-rio-grande-thursday-doors/

I think I saw your chalkboard idea in use in another laneway a while back but I didn’t use the shot because…no door. Thanks for joining us this week 🙂

What a cool play space for the kids. We used to play in alleys that looked like the movie sets for film noir.

Yeah, that’s what the alleys in my neighbourhood looked like back then too 😀

How marvelous! My favorite I think is the first picture. It just looks so inviting to walk into that fairytale scene. I’ve been seeing the Thursday doors on other blogs for a while but never stopped by here before. Thanks for sharing! Janet

I like the little library too. Missing our library now with the virus. Working in the library was my first job! Anyway, here is my offering for this Thursday.

Thank you Roberta. Yes, I find that for a densely populated urban environment it is somewhat kid-friendly 🙂

I love the toys, and the selection of rather utilitarian doors looking like back entrances to warehouses, the kind of things you might find on an industrial estate.
Some Bristol doorways, with the emphasis on doorway, for you this week: https://scooj.org/2020/11/05/thursday-doors-5-november-2020/

Thank you. Yes one of the streets that connects to this alley had a strange mix with a few commercial buildings among the residential duplexes.

Happy to see a safe play place. I remember liking alleys when I was a kid, even with the occasional rat. My door today is just sad: It the door of my oven. Actually, not sad to me, because oven mean food and food R me. https://marianallen.com/2020/11/door-to-happiness-thursdaydoors/

I really like the fact that they’ve made it a safe place to play. We have a small group of kids who play at the end of our street. It’s so nice to see them out there having fun.
I love the rainbow fence and the little free library. It looks like the library needs a little free grounds crew, but still good to see.
