One Liner Wednesday – UEFA Euro 2016

For this week’s One-Liner Wednesday by Linda G. Hill:

An acquaintance in Europe asked me who I was rooting for in the UEFA Euro 2016 soccer tournament.

I replied, “I don’t really watch soccer. If I wanted to watch a bunch of guys struggle for 90 minutes and still not score I’d go hang out in a night club”.

Guys not scoring in a bar was FUNNY! It made me chuckle, Norm. 😀

  2. Oooo, Norm. Nice one! Have to admit I’d much rather watch soccer than your alternative but it’s a great one-liner! The thing that drives us nuts about soccer/football is all the theatrical “injuries”: guys writhing on the ground and taking dives. Rugby players don’t do any of that and their sport is much harder physically.

Well Janet for more excitement there’s always watching paint dry or listening to golf on the radio 😛
It’s a beautiful game with some really dumb rules, which is why I can’t take it seriously. The guys rolling around like they’ve just been shot is a big part of the problem. So is the incomprehensible offsides rule, and don’t even get me started about ‘extra-time’, ugh!
