Thursday Doors is a weekly feature allowing door lovers to come together to admire and share their favorite door photos from around the world. Feel free to join in on the fun by creating your own Thursday Doors post each week and then sharing it, between Thursday morning and Saturday noon (North American eastern time), by using the blue link-up button below.
Note: I will be on a hiatus from blogging and unable to run Thursday Doors the weeks of Aug 31, Sept 7 and 14th. While I’m away Thursday Doors will continue thanks to an awesome line-up of guest hosts. During that time please check this space for a link to that week’s host.
Tired and In Need of a Break
I have done a Thursday Doors post every single week without fail since September 4th, 2014.
Folks, that’s over 150 weeks. Perhaps I could be in line for some sort of Iron Man award? Just call me the Cal Ripken Jr. of doors 😉
I love it, but I’m pooped and I need an extended rest.
For this week’s post I thought I’d put up a few that kinda reflect my mood at the moment, so here’s an assortment of doors that are tired and just like me, could use a break 😀
I’ll be around through the weekend to check out everyone’s #ThursdayDoors posts for this week, but then I am unplugging for a while.
I expect to be back refreshed and recharged with a new Thursday Doors post on September 21st.
In the meantime please keep having fun with your own doors posts each week and do play nice with our weekly guest hosts who will do their very best to keep you in wonderful doors while I’m away.
As always: thanks for visiting. See you all in a few weeks 😀
Want to join in on the fun and share your own Thursday Doors post with other door lovers? Click on the blue button below to add the link to your Thursday Doors post to our link-up list.
Don’t forget that if you share your blog posts on Twitter and Instagram, use the #ThursdayDoors hashtag to help others find you, and please do take a few minutes to visit some of the Thursday Door posts shared by others.

I sometimes wonder how I make I through the summers, but I guess I would be sad ithout my friends I have met. It would be different if I shared.a household and would blog only once or twice a week.
The colorful, worn doors made me think of how a garden with weeds is still pretty!
Hope you have a lovely and exciting vacation, Norm and your “honey.”

I haven’t posted for TD in a while myself and on a blogging break except for the weekly photo challenge. Enjoy your break, Norm, and we will both be back with some doors to share! I collected a few in Lake Tahoe 🙂

That last one with its caption really made me smile.
Feels like it’s been a long time since my last TD post (I also sympathise with the tired state of your doors this week) but I’m hoping to find time to put one together in the next few weeks – maybe to support the guest hosts!
Looking forward to your return 🙂 Hope you have a good break

Enjoy your break, Norm! I understand the need – I’ve been doing SoCS since March 2014, though I’ve had a few breaks of my own since then.
Love the doors! There’s something about old, run-down doors that’s just … je ne sais quoi.

Thanks Deborah. I’ve taken vacations and get-aways fairly regularly, but I would always blog from the road. This is the first time I’m taking a full-stock blogging break though. It ill be interesting to see how much I miss it while I’m away 🙂

We all need a rest from time to time. When I was a teen one summer I worked with a group of marionettes – such fun. The door brings back those memories. Thanks!

Thanks Marian. You kids usually behave well whenever I’m gone so I’m not worried about that, but this is the first time I take a full-stop break from Thursday Doors and from blogging. I suspect it will feel a bit weird.
