First off: Happy Thanksgiving to all of our friends in the U.S.

Also, just a quick reminder door lovers: As mentioned in my post this past weekend, as of next Thursday December 3rd, you’ll find Thursday Doors over at Dan Antion’s place No Facilities.

For my last Thursday Doors post for the foreseeable future I thought it would be fun to step out of the back alleys and have a look at some of the front doors that can be found in Montreal’s colourful Plateau Mont Royal neighbourhood.

The Plateau is also the part of town containing the most street-art.

Even on the residential streets, people in this neighbourhood like to use colour as a way to stand out from the ordinary.

One of two major murals in the city dedicated to baseball legend Jackie Robinson for his connection to the city that gave him his start as the first African-American player to break that sport’s Major League colour barrier.

No door in this shot, just another impressive mural featuring a hometown favourite.

Leonard Cohen lived several blocks from the location of this mural.

Odd colour mix or maybe just the orange glow from the light reflecting back from across the street.

Speaking of across the street….

Variety is the spice of life, after all.

The shape of the window is what attracted me to this one.

Yes, the one under the balcony is as short as it looks.

And a few more highlighting the fun colour choices I mentioned earlier.

There’s so much to love about these ones that I decided they’d be a good place to stop.
