More of Montréal’s Ruelles Vertes #10
These are some of the most colourful discoveries I’ve made while exploring the Ruelles Vertes in Montreal’s Plateau Mont-Royal neighbourhood.
Lots to see though, so put on your comfy walking shoes and follow me:
If you say so.
It does have a door.
I sure hope so!
The door and
The rest of the mural.
An upside-down horseshoe is supposed to be bad luck, no?
Yes, this is a door.
As always I thank you for looking 🙂

Love the colourful graffiti, Norm, but the one that really got to me was “Its Ok”. Simple and just the right calm for our turbulent times. Don’t have a door offering this week, but perhaps next.

Thanks Debi. My first instinct told me not to believe the “It’s ok” but you’re right, it’s a simple, calm message for turbulent times, and thankfully it’s a message that has been growing on me of late 🙂

I think you’re right about the horseshoe, Norm. If it hangs that way, the magic leaks out. Also…there’s a squirrel in that shot!! :o)
I took these photos of doors just for Thursday doors. Then decided I wouldn’t do a doors-only post. Then decided I’d link anyway, just in case it’s ok. There are some cool doors here, but you have to dig for them. Thank you as always, for the opportunity to be a part of this community. https://crystaltrulove.com/2020/11/13/mouth-of-the-columbia/

Thanks Crystal. As for the squirrel, when I was writing the post I decided not to mention it, just to see if anyone would notice. Well congrats, you’re the first one to notice! 😀

I love squirrels, so I may be more inclined to notice and more inclined to comment. ❤

Oh, how brilliant are these! I can tell how your heart sang when you found them. And I love the positive messages too. Resistance is fertile!
I continue with my door tour of Farnese – part 4 and the end is not in sight yet – as Tuscany turns orange and I cannot leave my municipality any longer:

You’re right Jean. There is so much to explore, and with the number of these alleys up over 400 I could go for months and months worth of posts. Come to think of it, I’m pretty sure I already have 😀

The one with the wheels? Barn door, I think? My fave for door style, but you can’t beat all the colors of all the others. Is this where all the artists and writers live, i.e., my future new neighborhood?

The whole neighbourhood (we spell it with the “u” so you’re gonna have to get used to that) has always had an artsy bohemian vibe, with lots of writers, performers and artists.

I will gleefully add ‘u’ to words that don’t need it here. I appreciate more colourful language. See?
*making a note of my new neighborhood’s location*

Good morning, Norm. This is the area that just keeps on giving, isn’t it? I love that old stove, the man ducking into a house?, and the one near the end with the big leaves and the keyboard. Yes, an upside down horseshoe supposedly means that your luck has run out. Hopefully not true.

You spoil us – way too many great doors and some stunning murals. I just had a quick look at the @Paulaprezende murals and it turns out she is an artist from Porto in Portugal. I love the raised door with the horseshoe and elevated steps.

Thanks. I’m guessing the @Paulaprezende ones may have been commissioned by someone as part of our annual mural festival.

What a love day for a colourful walk! When I think of Street Art I always think of Montreal. My Grandmother used to tell me that if the horseshoe was turned over, all your luck had run out.

Walking out under that horseshoe would certainly bring a person bad luck, Norm. These are great doors. There are some very talented and imaginative folks in that ally. I love the keyboard mural, but I’m drawn to the first (barn) door. I’m also fond of the cast iron stove door. And the frog, can I have the frog door?
