Ruelles Vertes in Rosemont/Petite-Patrie, Montréal (Part #3)

This week I continue to skulk around in the back alleys of my old neighbourhood in the city, looking for interesting doors while maintaining safe physical distancing.

In case you missed it this post from a few weeks ago offers a quick explanation of Montréal’s Ruelles Vertes/Green Laneways initiative.

Some of these are a bit on the gritty side but hey, they can’t all be pretty 😉

A Banksy knock-off/tribute

Definitely not a Banksy

Beauty beside the dumpster…sounds like a great title for a detective novel 😉

Found this one around the corner from the alley. I just couldn’t resist the weird patterns in the frosted glass.

There’s no door here but any mural that incorporates a living climbing vine into itself deserves to be showcased.

Love the colour one these.

    How perfect is that mural with the climbing vine attached to it? Wonderful.
    The first one, the rather sad dirty white garage door…but a touch of hope in the little girl with her handful of balloons 🙂

    My first thought was to wonder if that was a “Banksy”? Then I read your title. It’s a good Knock-off.

    I’ve only seen one real Banksy myself and think it would be neat to come across another one someday. This collection of doors is great. It has lots of variety and color!

    That’s the strangest frosted glass I’ve ever seen. Unless it’s real frost, with sub zero temperatures behind that door. My favourite is definitely the arch mural with the living vine. Beautiful scene. Here’s my offering this week, thanks Norm.

      Thanks Jean. Yes the glass was a real head-scratcher. It’s usually done with a specific pattern of some sort of drawing or design, but in this case there was absolutely no rhyme or reason to any of it :-/

    I am drawn to the door that is not a door with the vine growing around it. It makes for a very pretty setting that hopefully is near a real establishment door where others can enjoy. Happy Thursday Norm.

    I love your CN artists who spread their artistic skills for the rest of us to enjoy. Even the frosted glass door had a mailbox that was painted with flowers. 🙂 I do hope you didn’t take a piece of that vine home though because it looks like Virginia Creeper which is a really nasty invasive.     Some of these are amazing, Norm. They deserve to be showcased. I love that narrow door with the textured glass. I wonder if the dumpster driver appreciates the change of pace when he drives down the street.

    How is your garden doing this year, Norm? Trying to keep everything watered this summer with all the heat we’ve had has been a challenge here.

      Thanks Joanne. I hope all is good with you. The garden is doing great. Since I can’t, and don’t really want to risk going anywhere right now, tending to my veggies has become my main source of entertainment.
      Despite the heat, we’re getting frequent showers and thunderstorms so my rain barrel is always full and watering hasn’t been an issue.
