Rainbows of Hope

This week’s post is brought to you by some of the children in our neighbourhood.

Time is a bit of a blur these days what with the entire world on ‘pause’, but I think here in the province of Québec we’re into our second (or is it third?) week of school shutdowns.

I can only imagine how challenging it has been for parents to keep their little ones not only safe, but distracted and occupied as well.

On our daily walks to get some fresh air and a bit of exercise, we recently started noticing many homes around our neighbourhood were putting up drawings of rainbows in their windows.

It seems that having children draw rainbows to display in their windows is trending around the globe

and it’s such a wonderful way to spread a positive message of hope from our little ones, just when the world needs it most.

It certainly helps keep them occupied, if only briefly,

and I guess it can give them a sense of contributing to making things a bit better by spreading smiles and lifting spirits.

So this week it’s not so much about pretty doors but about a message from the youngest members of society;

a message of hope and solidarity, and of course, to share a few smiles too 😀

I can say that it has certainly caused a few smiles for us on our walks,

and I look forward to seeing new ones each time we go out.
