Pretty in the City – Montréal

Here’s another collection from my doorscursion in last week’s post in my old hood Rosemont/Petite Patrie in Montréal. I’m sure you’ll agree these are prettier and more colourful, plus there’s some fun street art thrown in as well.

Yes there’s a door in there…

Ah! There it is 🙂

No door on this one but I’d love it someone who understands this stuff could explain it to me 😀

What could be more uplifting on a cold winter day than a bright yellow porch and door? We actually got two more dumpings of snow since this image was taken. When I drove past earlier this week the snow was up to the top of the stairs.

The French flag with the yellow star of the sea aka Stella Maris – star of the Virgin Mary – patron saint of the Acadians, on the upper left corner. Safe to assume this is someone whose ancestors came from the Acadian colonies on the east coast of Canada.

I’m still trying to figure out what those add-ons are to the pretty door on the left

This one was pretty enough that I really wanted to go up the stairs and move the brown compost collection bin out of the shot but…I don’t want to set a bad example for the rest of our door lovers by getting myself arrested for trespassing 😉

More unrelated to doors but lovely street art that jumped out at me from a snowy alley.

Pretty decorative doors to an old meeting hall that was associated with a long-gone Anglican church in the neighbourhood. Today the building is owned by a private spa and wellness clinic.

And we’ll finish this one off with a few more splashes of colour.

With more snow in the short-term forecast I’m thinking we could use all the colour we can get.
