An Afternoon Stroll with Friends in Massa Marittima, Tuscany – Part #1

I showed a bit of Massa Marittima in my post from last week. This time I’ll take you exploring around some of the streets of this lovely historic old community in southern Tuscany.

But first, how about a long lingering look at the gorgeous Tuscan countryside from behind the cathedral…sigh…so pretty.

This shot gets me excited with anticipation for all of the awesome doors we’re about to discover. I stopped to capture just about every one of these because each one is unique, or because I’m a total door nut…probably a bit of both.

It’s all good though, especially when you’re in the company of several others who either share in or fully understand your door fetish 😉

Some of these may look familiar and if they do it’s because Manja has put some them in her previous posts from this magical town.

Sometimes it’s the door knockers that catch the eye even more than the doors.

I loved the vertical brass handles on this one.

More vertical handles plus an overall fairy-tale vibe to this one.

The slow steady climb on a relatively hot day was starting to wear me down though…

and I think this is around the spot where I had to stop for a few minutes.

So let’s take a break while I catch my breath and we’ll pick it up from here next week as we continue the tour.
