Thursday Doors – July 19, 2018

Thursday Doors is a weekly feature allowing door lovers to come together to admire and share their favorite door photos from around the world. Feel free to join in on the fun by creating your own Thursday Doors post each week and then sharing it, between Thursday morning and Saturday noon (North American eastern time), by using the blue link-up button below. Note: Only non-commercial posts will be accepted. Any posts that directly advertise merchandise for sale will be removed.

Reminder: As of July 21st I’ll be taking a 2-week summer break. There will be no #ThursdayDoors link-up here on July 26th nor on August 2nd.

I’ll be back with our regular #ThursdayDoors link-up on August 9th. In the meantime please feel free to continue posting your own #ThursdayDoors for the next two Thursdays if you like.

Toronto Leftovers

Despite what the title may lead you to conclude, no I didn’t bring home a doggy bag of left-over food from our time in Toronto this past spring 😀

I do however still have a number of unused doors that don’t quite fit into any specific category. Since I’ve been unable to get out on a fresh doorscursion lately, this week I’ve decided to dip into those unused doors to finish up before the summer break.

Ice Ice Baby – Distillery District

Utility box – near Casa-Loma

Garden Shed Door – Casa-Loma

Antique Horse-Drawn Carriage – Casa-Loma

Side/Private Entrance – Hockey Hall of Fame

Plus here are a couple of beauties that seemed to all be University of Toronto Buildings:

I’ll be around to visit your posts and answer comments until mid-day on Friday. I’ll see everyone back here on August 9th. Now you kids all play nice and don’t break anything while I’m gone 😉

Want to join in on the fun and share your own Thursday Doors post with other door lovers? Click on the blue button below to add the link to your Thursday Doors post to our link-up list.

Don’t forget that if you share your blog posts on Twitter and Instagram, use the #ThursdayDoors hashtag to help others find you, and please do take a few minutes to visit some of the Thursday Door posts shared by others.

  4. The utility box and the garden shed door looks something like the book series I’ve been reading. The Dark Tower book series by Stephen King. I’m starting the last book tomorrow. The last doors are pretty.

  5. I really like those electrical box doors. Many cities are getting so creative with that!

Hi Norm! Your doors this week are very varied. The first few are so original and the final ones so beautiful… I loved them all 🙂 I know which one my grandchildren would prefer 🙂
I went back to my mother’s village last week for a quick visit with my cousins and posted a few, mostly unchanged doors, since my mother’s childhood!

Wow Norm – each one of these photos is great. I like the shed door – 3rd one in. So impressed with the lighting you captured.

Have a great vacation and I’ll talk to you when you return about our next cycling adventure 🚲🚲🚲

These are great doors, Norm. It’s funny how leftovers can turn into great meals. I love that last photo. What a marvellous entrance.

Enjoy your break. See you in August.

I always choose for brick walls – great captures of the doors. You don’t seem the type for doggie bags, or?

Oh, my! That first stone building! I want to live there AND in the house across the way from it, so I can enjoy it from the inside and from the outside. Wow!

Thanks Marian. I like the way you think. Mind you with the real-estate prices in Toronto lately I doubt I could afford the property taxes let alone the purchase price of a place like that. It is nice and it doesn’t cost anything to dream though 😉

  19. Some very nice doors indeed. But the stand out image for me is the graffiti on the utility box.

Carriage — yellow and beautiful and historic — but that floor. My goodness, I remember that floor from other posts.
Love Ice, Ice Baby, too 🙂
    Enjoy your break!

  23. A beautiful mix of doors, Norm. Love that first one, made me thirsty. We’re having the hottest summer here in Ireland since the seventies, apparently.

  24. I could almost dive into that Ice door. It is sweltering. Love the UT doors. Universities are usually great places for door hunters. Have a great holiday, Norm!

  27. Wow! I love that third door, Norm. It’s so creepy, especially with the way the light is shining on it.
    Have a great break.

  28. What a perfect way to head out for a couple of weeks. I may be thinking all day about that ‘garden’ door. It looks like someone put a lazy susan on it. 🙂 We’ll try to do you proud while you’re gone. :-0
