As most of you may know already, The Daily Post is packing it in and this week’s photo challenge will be their last.
Due to a lack of time I haven’t participated in this weekly challenge in quite a while, but whenever I do pop in to poke around, through this challenge I have been exposed to and come to appreciate the talent and creative skills of many terrific people here on WordPress.
All this to say: I will miss this challenge greatly.
For the finale they’re appropriately asking to see everyone’s All-Time Favorites so here’s a somewhat incomplete selection of my all-time non-door personal faves:
Western Brook Pond – Gros Morne National Park, Newfoundland
Sunrise Coloured Sky, Montreal
Threatening Skies Over New York City
Montmorency Falls in Winter, Quebec City
Morning Mist Over Tuscan Hills
Mountain Glaciers – Gornergrat/Zermatt, Switzerland
California Coastline
Swiss Castle – Aigle, Switzerland
California Desert, Joshua Tree National Park
Ponte Vechio – Florence, Italy
Original Selfie – Mascouche, Quebec
Purple and Blue – Butterfly Exhibit, Montreal Botanical Gardens
The Early Bird Gets the Shot, Eagle Point – Grand Canyon National Park, Arizona
Old Farm Equipment – Countryside north-east of Montreal
Flatiron Building – Downtown Toronto
Chateau Frontenac – Lower Town, Quebec City
Chicago Skyline on a Clear Blue Day
Cabot Trail – Cape Breton National Park, Nova Scotia
Vernal Falls From the Shadows – Yosemite National Park, California
Boboli Gardens – Florence, Italy
Fishing Cove Sunset – Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia
For those looking for some other weekly photo challenges to participate in to fill the void, the list of events and challenges available on WordPress can be found here
FYI I hear there’s a fun weekly photo challenge on Thursdays that’s frequented by a bunch of weirdo door fanatics that you might want to try 😉
I hope to see you there.
Thanks for looking!
This is a gorgeous collection – I really had to stop and admire each of them!

What a gorgeous selection and some photos brought back some wonderful memories although now when I find myself in Toronto again, I’m going to have to look for that incredible flatiron building having checked them out in New York City…thank you for sharing!

Gorgeous photos! I was amazed at the one of Montmorency Falls. Having seen it in the summer, it’s hard to imagine it being frozen. I think you and I stood at the exact same spot to take the picture of the California coast. Lucky you for having the fog make the picture extra special.

Thank you. Yes the fog made the shots I took that day extra-special.

These are all award winning shots to be sure. Is the Cali coastline from the Big Sur area? Sure looks like it.

Those ARE some amazing photos! If I had to choose a favorite, it would be the one of the Tuscan hills. That is just simply rapturous.

Thanks Marian. That Tuscan one brings back some wonderful memories. A few years back we were very fortunate to take our morning coffee and admire the scenery from that spot for an entire week.

Just excellent. I planned to tell you my favourites but soon there were too many to keep track. Both from California and the butterfly are surely in there, and the entire last third. 🙂 I’m choosing photos from my old WPC posts right now as well but I’m only on my first blog and already have enough for one post. I think it’s safe to say there will be more than one best of post. 🙂 So glad you did you compilation!

You have some marvelous shots here, Norm. I’m sad to see the challenge go, as it was such a great way to meet people from all over the world without having to follow a million blogs, which I simply don’t have time to do. But that Thursday Doors challenge you mention is a winner, too. 🙂

It was taken from the outside upper level of Louise Armstrong Tennis Stadium – at the U.S. Open in Flushing Meadows.
