Colourful Doors in Vieux Terrebonne – Part 3

Here’s the last batch of my discovery of fun colours and quaint historic buildings in Vieux Terrebonne northeast of Montreal in the Lanaudiere region of Quebec.

I just loved the color combination on this one.

And this one too for that matter 😀

Lots of charm to this one don’t you think?

Simple but pretty.

The door is kinda modern plain-ish, but old field stone walls really do it for me.

This one has seen better days.

And so has this one I’m afraid 😦

    I’ve enjoyed all these pops of color. I love the color combos that people choose for their home and also that they take the time to think on such things. Thanks for sharing them. I hope that you all had a lovely Easter. 🙂

    Norm, I enjoyed this post like a bouquet of flowers, Fall in the first colors, Spring in the pinks and pastel greens, then Summer’s crisp blue as if close to the ocean. The fieldstone house seems like one of the oldest in this charming collection. The blue sloped and curving awning is really unique! Have a wonderful weekend and hope your Easter was special. 🙂

    like the patina in some of these older entrances – and side note, I will be a little late adding in my doors link – it is scheduled for early Thurs am and I will be be back to add it later – hope that is cool and the gang.

    Great assortment of doors, colors, door frames and awnings! I noticed that some doors had deadbolts and/or padlocks on the outside; hope they had locks on the inside, too!

    That lil shed is exceedingly charming, yes. Love it almost as much as 278, cause oh, that awning is dear. Great doors! 🙂

    Lordy! Lordy! Is that garage door blocked by as much snow as it appears? Wish we would have had a snowfall like that! Nice doors, once again Norm.

      Yes there’s still about a foot of snow on our lawn as well. Warmer temps are on the way so hopefully we’ll start seeing the grass soon 🙂

    Great doors, bright colors, and nice hardware and gingerbread. I really like the mailbox in the first one and the black accent on the steps in the second one. Good ones, Norm. 🙂

    Lovely color series! I love the blue, white, and yellow trimmed one, and the stone house with the blue awning. The green with the purple was nice too. It’s that shade of green. I LOVE it!

    Love the first one with all the spindles – and great color combi! The second one, takes me a second to get used to, but it a daring color, so I like it. And the door with the blue top, wouldn’t mind to have that framing my front door. Hope you had a good (and relaxing time in the weekend, and if not, your job will probably take your focus quickly:)

    Both Lynn and Ally commented on the colour combinations and I echo their thoughts. The overarching theme of the buildings you’ve featured from Terrebonne is that there has been a great deal of care and effort that’s gone into the appearance of these buildings. Regardless of the colours chosen, they are all wonderful because they add to that unique flavour which is Quebec.

    That stone house with the blue awning over the white door? I was loving it until I noticed the etched glass panel in the door… just wrong.
    And that old beat up, paint peeling, door that’s no longer hanging right? That door has a story to tell 🙂

    I think one of the things I love about Quebec is the colour combinations found in homes. Love the sign over the weathered door that has seen better days! Happy Easter Norm!

    Whenever I see fancy doors and houses with multiple color schemes, my first thought is: how much extra does it cost to have your house painted this way? All that detail just doesn’t happen. Someone’s putting money, or lots of time, into creating the look. Lovely photos.

      You’re right Ally, details like these don’t just happen. Luckily many of the folks who live or own businesses in this area appreciate the historic significance of this place and are willing and able to put the effort and the money needed to maintain it.

    Great colorful doors, Norm. I am intrigued by the gambrel roofs with the curved lower sections. They have a wonderful look, but they must be so much harder to build and protect. I love the little blue one over the side door. I also like the shutters on that house. I hope your travels are safe and enjoyable.

      Yes there’s still a bit of snow left. Around here we have about a foot on our lawn still. If it warms up enough it should all be gone by by April *fingers crossed*
