Vieux Terrebonne Part 2

Let’s pick up right where we left off last week exploring some of the old buildings and lovely doors in Vieux Terrebonne covered in snow:

And the best news of all is that in about a month or so it will all start melting 😀

As always, thanks so much for dropping by 🙂

Wow, what impressive doors, they are splendid, even knee deep in snow! The house and doors with the orange surround really stands out! I love it….but I do NOT envy you your climate, right now in Cyprus it’s 14c, I’m cold and have the CHeating on, I would not survive Canadian weather, I’m such a wimp now!

Thanks Vicky. The cold weather’s something you learn to get used to. As long as you dress appropriately, even -25c can be comfortable as long as there’s no wind of course 😉

Ooo! That college door, with the teardrop fanlights! Ooo! #933! I’m glad I don’t have to pick a favorite! 🙂

Some amazing shots there, Norm. The snow is the perfect special effect…if only it wasn’t so damn cold 🙂

Thanks. I know what you mean about the cold…ugh. Mid-February so I’m just about done with winter already. Unfortunately for me, nature is the one who decides when it’s over 😉

Oh my word! I thought white house with bright yellow trim had stolen my heart until I saw 933, with its warm wood and evergreen… Back and forth I went. Now I can’t decide. It’s all beautiful! Thanks for those choices 🙂

  5. They’re all so pretty and each is full of personality! It’s hard to pick a fav, but 933, and the white with yellow trim are mine for this series.

These are so lovely Norm. At first I thought “oh, I love the turquoise accents”, but then loved the coppery yellow, and #933 is just beautiful! They are all so stunning. It must be such a treat to see them in person! 🙂

Thanks Amy. Yes they are beautiful to see in person and on that stretch of road there’s quite a few more. I think I could go back and get enough material for at least 3-4 more posts 🙂

I love white walls in white snow, and I wish I could wear and look good in white – unfortunately not!
Am not predicting anything, because we had snow on April 1st last year. Another favorite is the last one – somehow snow softens the bare or old. Great collection, Norm!

  21. We’re having a bit of snow here, too, Norm. Nothing like you have there, of course. But enough to get excited about. All the properties you posted this week are fab but I love that last one, especially in the snow.

Great Doors and lovely buildings, you can really see the French influence in some of them.

  24. My heart belonged to the first one…until I got to 933. That’s my favorite and I’m sticking to it. But they’re all lovely and I especially like the shots where it’s snowing, too. We have quite a bit here, but it started melting yesterday and will continue to do so today. As for the rest of winter, who knows? 🙂

Every week, I fall in love with the first door you show us, Norm and almost every week, something comes along and steals the top spot. This week is the exception. I really like that first door, and even though you have a bunch of good ones, that’s my favorite. 1801 and 933 are close seconds.

I think the snow helps, in that it highlights the strength and purpose of these doors. They stand strong between us and whatever nature throws at them. Great photos!

  28. Almost anything looks good with some snow on it. There are two wonderful garbage bins in one of these photos, which would look less wonderful if it was not for the snow. 🙂

What a lovely collection of grand homes! … and not one of them appears to have a driveway tent for the snow that is so common throughout Quebec.
    I thought I loved 1801, until I saw 933.
