My comments may be in your spam folder.
Having comments mistakenly caught as spam has happened to many others and as of earlier this week it would seem that it’s my turn. This post from Hugh of Hugh’s Views and News explains what to do find my comments while I try to get this fixed.

I am not sure if WP just updated and discards connections or what else?! Such a very interesting and helpful post.

Oh no! I very infrequently check my spam, but happened to last week shortly after you must have left the response on the Versaille post. I couldn’t BELIEVE they would think your comment was spam. It makes more sense that it was happening across the board, but yuck for you that you had to deal with that!

So far, I haven’t seen any of your comments in my SPAM. Dan Antion’s have begun consistently to go to moderation, no matter what settings I tweak and how many times I whitelist him.

How bizarre that your comment got sent to my spam folder. You’re always welcome over on my blog!
Good thing you posted this – wouldn’t have known otherwise

Thanks for this Norm. The good news is you weren’t in my spam folder,; but a couple of other people were. I’m terrible at remembering to check Spam; maybe now I’ll be better. Cheers, Su

This happens to me every once in a while. I also have a non-blogger who leaves comments regularly on my posts. We have been long-distance friends. But, every time she leaves a comment it ships her to the junk folder of my gmail. And, sometimes I go to look for her and find 15-20 other emails that are regular visitors. Now, that annoys me as much as WordPress. 🙂 Have a good weekend, Norm. 🙂

😀 Don’t worry, it only sounds complicated until you get used to it.

Thanks for the heads-up Norm. Yes, I found you languishing in my Spam folder. You seemed unhappy in there.
Thanks for Hugh’s link. Hopefully I never have to use it!

Happiness Engineer? That probably explains it all.
Actually, my son became a happiness engineer. He started a distillery.

Yes I prefer happiness of the liquid kind 😀

Thanks for this! I actually had no idea where to find the Spam folder. I guess I just wasn’t looking very hard. I hope I can remember to check back on a semi-regular basis. Good tip!

Thanks Leah. Glad this proved useful. Hugh explained it better than I could so it seemed to make sense to share 🙂

I found one of your messages in my spam folder. I will check more often and let you know if I find any more.

I sent the WP folks a note this morning so hopefully it gets fixed soon 🙂

I hope you get it sorted soon. You’re not landing in my SPAM folder, but I do appreciate you teaching me where to look for the SPAM folder and what do if it ever happens. I cleared out the 25 real SPAM comments that were in my SPAM folder just now. 🙂

That’s odd. I usually visit and comment on all the posts on the link-up list first and I was pretty sure I got around to everyone yesterday. Mind you in all the confusion, perhaps I just thought I’d left a comment. I’ll swing by and double check again later – cheers 🙂

I hope WordPress sort it out for you quickly, Norm. It’s happened to me three times and nobody at WordPress can tell me why it keeps happening. I now check my WordPress spam folder on a daily basis and let anyone who ends up in there know about it. I’ve checked, but nothing there from you.
Thanks for the reblog.

Thanks Hugh. You explained it better than I would have, plus I really don’t have time to write another post at the moment 😀

I’ve had this problem too – but I didn’t realize what was happening for quite a while. It was only when I tried to link to WordPress Photo Challenge and couldn’t that I saw something was wrong. It took a while to sort it out. I asked what I’d done that made the system red-flag my posts and comments but no one seemed to have the answer.

I suspect it will be the same i my case too. I mean I haven’t done anything differently so there’s no logical reason.
Glitches happen but it’s still a darn good system considering what I’m paying ($0.00) for it 😉
