Scaling Back

This is not good-bye, or even au revoir, but I will be dramatically scaling back my activities on here until further notice.

Since coming back from vacation in September I have not been posting as regularly. I’ve been doing a lot more ‘drive-by liking’ and a lot less commenting and interacting with others’ posts.

Everything is fine, my health is okay, and I’m not going away.

I am however spending a lot of time on a new personal business project. Together with some former colleagues we’re trying to set up our own boutique MarComs agency that will cater mostly to North American clients in the industry I’ve been working in for the last 20 years.

Preparing a business plan and marketing materials, getting the company registered, securing commitments from potential clients, meetings with accountants, lawyers, and banks. It is all very exciting but also very time consuming.

With this in mind I need to dramatically scale back the amount of time I spend on other things. Therefore the blog and social media in general are the logical places to cut.

Don’t panic! Thursday Doors is not going anywhere. I will still be here each Thursday with a new link-up post and I hope you all continue to join me, and tell your friends so we can continue to grow this thing!

It will however take longer for me to get around to see each of your posts and also to reply to your wonderful comments.

Aside from Thursday Doors I’ll pop in from time to time when I can, but for the next few months as least, that will probably not be very often.

Please do feel free to reach out via email if you’d like to keep in touch or just to say hi, and if you’re ever in my part of the world do let me know; there’s always time for a doorscursion.

Wish me luck and until then, see you next Thursday  🙂

I am just reading about your new business venture, did not realize you had ‘scaled back’ on WP. I am thankful your Thursday Doors is still very much alive and flourishing and hoping your new agency is as well. Best to you in 2017 and beyond.

  35. Glad you’re keeping Thursday Doors, but I completely understand and pray that your new venture is successful and rewarding. I’m thinking thoughts about cutting back, too, even though I haven’t been brave enough yet to do so. But I find I’m spending too much time online, time that I enjoy, but that would be more profitably spent elsewhere, in the real world. 🙂

  39. I will have to make a similar decision and how you feel. In the end, something has to give and I too feel that blogging has taken too much time from my real life and my job and all the projects.

I kind of like the phrase “drive-by liking”. I think I do that sometimes, especially if I’m a bit time-poor or just too tired to put together a coherent and considered comment/reply. It’s just better for everyone involved.

Good luck with the business project!
