Here’s an interesting assortment of doors found during a photo walk while in New York City last month.

    Great finds! I love the bottom one with the interesting wall art and faded brick. The doors look like rusty metal and suit their setting 🙂

    Excellent finds! I liked #3, the high tech solution to holding the door open but all of the other photos were really cool too.

    I missed posting 2 weeks due to a crashed computer and then last weekend, a visit to the Eastern Sierras with Deborah and others to capture the fall colors which was a fun trip (will post again next week).

    The Gansevoort Market was my favorite photograph of your uniquely beautiful doors today. The door held open has a nice structure around it and “potential.” The church with grilling on the insets of the wood but worn places on the wood, needs sanding and a new coating of stain. It was pretty, but the one which catches eyes has two green metal hooded lamps, an insect and cool bricks, with a rusted look metal door. Outstanding in its being different, Norm.

    Not as many interesting door around here. When I go out, it ‘s in nature, which is why I run out of doors. Now I’m on Sunday Trees. Never run out of trees.
    I really like the stain glass windows and the old wooden door.

    Those photos just got better and better as I scrolled down, Norm. I love the elevator doors but I think my favourite is that last one. Great selection, so varied and interesting.

    Great doors, Norm. I love the wooden doors at “14” and the ones above that photo. Walking around New York is like being in a door-lovers (I have to remember that, I keep calling us freaks) paradise.

    wow – the variety here is my favorite of this week’s post. each one so rich – and the four paneled one with the brick had a french feel…
    but many of these the words that came to my mind was “doors and more” – esp the first one with the teal trim and misc. –

    Redden’s is my favorite of the series. The old weathered door is cool, and I really like those shutter like doors with the huge garland. I’m wondering what goes on behind the door with the big fly image above it?

    Judy said it best when she described this collection as having character and charm. #18 really caught my eye … that appears to be a REALLY OLD Christmas laurel around the door frame. The tubular gate is also very interesting.

    I’m SUCH A SUCKER for old, weather-worn doors! That has to be my favorite, especially with those insanely thick vines next to it. All wonderful shots, though.

      Thanks Marian. At first I was disappointed that this one wasn’t closed to allow me a full shot of the doors itself, but it forced me to look for an interesting way to capture it anyway. I think it turned out pretty good 🙂

    That’s a fantastic collection of doors! I love the third one especially, all that texture! The first one, the gate in pipes, and the last one — those also give me the oohs and ahhs.

    So many cool doors in this area of NY. Thanks for sharing. I got a giggle out of how they held the old wooden door open with a rope. I suppose whatever works…

    Love the little statues on the first one, and no67 looks so narrow. Think your third one might be my favourite though.
