A Few Oddball Doors in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia

Dipping back into my archives I found this selection of oddball doors in interesting shapes, sizes and colours. All are from an afternoon-long Doorscursion in the beautiful seaside town of Lunenburg, Nova Scotia.

Norm, this was a fantastic set of oddball doors and you gave us a fine selection to choose from. I found the green to be the most unique like thy decided a window would show too much so they made it half covered with a window above. There is a silly commercial with a pony which is loved by a single woman and I think the song calls him a “funny little man.” This green door looked like a miniature horse stall door! 🙂

I haven’t seen that commercial but that is a funny connection to miniature horses; they’d have to be micro-horses though – I doubt this door was more than 20″ tall 😀

My favorite door is the one on the boat – probably because of the association of taking a boat trip:) It fits, but I don’t think I would paint my doors purple:)) Thanks for hosting!

I really like the green one – ice shute I would say! Coal would strain the door too easily! Alas, third doorless week for me. I know – I need to get out more!

Another thumbs up post! I like the little green door too, but am mostly intrigued by the optical illusion of a false wall in the second image! Happy shooting!

I love oddballs and this is a great selection.

The little crawl space door is cute, but my favourite is the purple doors on the pale blue building. It’s an unusual colour combination and I admire the boldness of the owners to run with it. I think it works and I really like it.

I think the tiny one is probably to a crawlspace under the building — I say this as someone who had one under a house we used to have. The glass is brilliant: crawlspaces aren’t known for being well-lit….

A great selection of colourful doors. The little green one is certainly an oddball. I went for a country drive today and this is what I found… https://pommepal.wordpress.com/2016/04/21/thursday-doors-mooball/

  17. I like when people take time to make doors other than just their front door attractive and colorful. I especially like the door on the boat and the tiny door.

  18. Love the Tall Ship doors, Norm. That little green one is intriguing. Is that your reflection in its tiny glass panel?

Thanks Jean. Not sure about the reflection. I see the tail end of a car but I don’t see me.

      • Oops! you could be right there, Norm. Does that mean I think you look like the ‘tail end of a car’ lol? At least you don’t look like the ‘back of a bus’ and expression that’s not very complimentary here. 😮 I must make that appointment with Spec Savers…..
