Here is another entry for the Daily Post’s weekly photo challenge: Landscape
Whenever possible over the years I have always tried to mix a little personal exploration time into the business trips I take for my work. One such example is a major trade show that’s held in our industry ever two years in Las Vegas.
Since Vegas is relatively close to one of the major natural wonders on our planet, I’ve had the good fortune to make several visits to the Grand Canyon – a dream come true for any landscape photography buff.
Here are a few of my favorite shots from different visits:
As always, thank you for looking 🙂
What an amazing place and you captured it very well!

Thanks Josée. I’ve been lucky enough to go there a few times and yet each visit I discover something new.

My grandpa and grandma moved to Phoenix when I was 15, so we had a flight to Texas, then to Phoenix. Then a great road trip to the eastern side of the Grand Canyon in winter. It looked like purple, blue and gray reflecting the lack of sun in the sky. I liked very much your sunset and different angles of the Grand Canyon Norm! 🙂

Thanks Robin. I’m told the north rim in winter is pretty spectacular too 🙂

If I had to pick one place only to visit in the States, it would be the Grand Canyon. Maybe one day I’ll get there but your beautiful photos are enough for now, thanks Norm.

Jean…you might choose Yosemite as a close second 🙂

I’ll have to take a ‘trip’ there on Google Earth again. Much cheaper and, for me, less frightening than air travel.

Oh yes Jean!! Yosemite is breathtaking. If you ever make it out that way, I’d suggest a road trip that includes both; I mean if you come all that way… 😉

Norm, these are remarkable. We’ve been to the Canyon twice, in 1997 with our five kids, and in 2008 or so, just my husband and me. It’s so true that every few feet gives you a completely different perspective.

No Jan I’ll leave that for the younger, braver, and fitter ones 🙂
If my condition would allow it, I wouldn’t mind hopping on one of those narrow trails and hiking at least part way down, but alas I’ll admire at a safe distance from up top.

Gorgeous Norm. I had the opportunity to visit Arizona & the Grand Canyon last year. The day we drove up, there was about a foot of fresh snow which was very unexpected on our part. As we drove along the canyon & up to Horseshoe Bend, the landscape continually changed in colour. It is magnificent, that’s for sure!
