Share Your World 2016 – Week 8

Here are my answers to Cee’s Share Your World questions for this week.

What household chore do you absolutely hate doing?

There’s not much that I don’t mind doing…except dishes. I mean I’ll scrub down the bathroom, wash, fold and put away laundry, pass the vacuum and mop the floors, do the windows, and I love to cook, but by golly do I ever hate doing dishes.

Luckily most things these days are dishwasher safe so there’s not much that has to be done by hand.

What was the last URL that you bookmarked?

I was researching some local historical buildings for future Thursday Doors posts and came across this site which lists the top 100 most beautiful buildings of architectural significance in Montreal. http://imtl.org/plusbeauedifices.php

I have a feeling I’ll be visiting this site often whenever I’m looking for inspiration for my next door post.

Close your eyes. Listen to your body. What part of your body is seeking attention? What is it telling you?

Lately it has been my legs. The muscles seem to get sore and tighten up on me real easy. I REALLY need to do a lot more stretching.

Would you rather have a two-bedroom apartment in a big city of your choosing or a mansion in the country side in the state or country where you currently live?

I was born and raised and lived the first few decades of my life in a big city and as much as I love it, I sure enjoy the extra breathing room and elbow space of the deep ‘burbs even more.

Now I don’t need or really want a mansion, but living outside of the city is what I prefer as long as we’re still close enough to be able to take advantage of the action in town as well. Now how’s that for waffling? 😀

Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?

We had a blast with our family curling outing we do each winter at a local club where I used to play regularly. We all try real hard but since everyone only plays once a year, no one is any good! It’s always good for a lot of laughs.

Nothing major on tap for this week but we’ll be starting the prep work for a trip we’re planning later this year.

Many thanks to Cee for organizing this weekly challenge, and to all for reading 🙂

With that first response you sound just like my husband 🙂

I have come to find doing the hand-wash dishes as almost a meditation. It probably helps that my husband does all the rest of the dishes, so as you say, it isn’t that much. Of note, I like to cook too and try to wash as I go. I have, however, noticed that people who love cooking generally like to leave the cleaning up to others!

I am nearly an hour outside of Portland so it is rather easy to get to the big city and even closer to its suburbs. This is my kind of life. I live in a little town (not considered a suburb) because we are 15 minutes of any highway and our city is relatively self-containing. I would love to have a house just outside my city in the woods somewhere. 😀 😀 We can have it all Norm.

Curling once/year. I’ve done that. Sore legs explained. You’re welcome.

You got my attention to your response for the last URL you bookmarked. You’re brilliant Mr. Norm!! It hadn’t occurred to me to do that and when I tried the same for Toronto, I got the most incredible list of historical buildings grouped by time category. This will come in very handy as I continue my exploration of my adopted city. So. Much. To. Do!!!

  7. Nothing profound to comment,Norm, just letting you know I’m out here reading this morning before heading to on a road trip to Ohio. Where will you be going on your trip later in the year? Curling is a sport I find interesting, but don’t really know a lot about. Hockey, however… 🙂
