In response to The Daily Post’s weekly photo challenge: “Careful.”
I had pretty much forgotten about these pics until I saw this week’s challenge and looked at some of the other entries.
I took these at a birthday party dinner held at a middle-eastern themed restaurant in downtown Montreal a few years ago.
Part of the fun of this place was the live entertainment throughout the evening in the form of belly dancing.
The first performer came out and danced for a few minutes. She then took out a sabre and balanced it on-edge on top of her head.
We knew we were in for an interesting evening when she proceeded to light the tip of the sabre on fire.
She continued dancing as the music intensified.
And then things got even more interesting.
I remember thinking to myself: fire, frilly costume, long hair, close quarters…
Please be CAREFUL!
Thanks for looking.
Wow, precision is definitely part of this act! Beautiful. Thanks for sharing.

uuuu, nice photos. well captured, though, I would, like joannesisco, look for the emergency exits with one eye while watching the lady with another eye.

A+, Norm. You captured “careful” and a beautiful young female entertainer. You had it all plus most like a lovely dinner companion. 🙂

Awesome! We had a fabulous Greek restaurant like that, belly dancing and all, here in the city, for my whole life, and then while we lived in Georgia, it closed. We are still sad. All the other Greek restaurants pale in comparison.

I know how you feel. I still miss the Chinese restaurant near where I grew up. That place was in business like forever. A few years after moving out of the neighborhood I drove by one day while visiting my parents, and the place was all boarded up. That was 10 years ago and I still haven’t found a place whose egg rolls even come close 😦

Oh yeah! That’s awful! Our local Chinese place Happy Garden closed up before we got back to Indy as well, and now it’s a bloody buggery Walmart Market! 😦

Yikes – if you’re like me, you were checking out the location of the emergency exits while watching this show for all the reasons you mentioned!
Great photos!

Yup. Let’s just say that the fact we were seated at one of the tables furthest from the door did cross my mind a few times that evening 🙂

She looks a dangerous woman to me, Norm. 🙂

No, I think that was her concentration face – once she put that sword down she was very friendly with everyone 🙂
