Thursday Doors – September 24, 2015

Theodore Tugboat

Obviously this one comes from a boat of some kind:

The boat in question is a full size replica of the beloved Theodore Tugboat, the star of a children’s television show here in Canada in the mid 1980’s through the early 1990’s.

Once a week for about 8 seasons, in stories recounted by the Harbour Master, Theodore worked the waters of Big Harbour, overcoming challenges and sharing adventures with his other boat buddies 🙂

After it ended the show’s producers with the financial backing of a local restaurant and tour company, decided to build this full size version named Theodore Too which is now docked in Halifax Harbour, in Nova Scotia.

Though his days as a big TV star are over, for about $25 tourists can take a half-hour cruise around Halifax harbour on the Theodore Too if they wish.

Unfortunately the day we were there it was a little grey and drizzly.

I don’t know if the show was ever picked up in syndication in other countries, but if you have seen or heard of it before in your part of the world please let me know.
