Back to Québec City again for another one of the many beautiful doors I captured during our February visit to the old town.
This law office seems to have spared no expense in fancying up the main and side entrances to their offices in the lower town.
I found them to be out of place, somewhat stuffy and a bit too modern looking, among so many old historical buildings:
Mind you, they are both quite impressive and the all black paint job with the brass hardware and trim really stand out:
Feel free to join in on the fun by creating and sharing your own Thursday Doors post anytime between Thursday and Saturday morning for entry into that week’s selection.

I was in Quebec when on a honeymoon and saw the way everything was so special and seemed like part of Europe 🙂 This door is outstanding in craftsmanship and beaut, Norm.

An imposing set of doors – they probably feel quite daunting to approach if you feel just a teensy bit in the wrong!

They are rather intimidating, aren’t they? Almost as if they’re saying, “Stay out!” They remind me of bank doors. Well captured. 🙂

Absolutely. Austere was the word that came to mind.

Those doors look like they should be for a lawyers office.

I love the details in the glass. I think they work perfectly with black doors. These are winners Norm!

Thanks. I stood there for 20 minutes changing positions and angles to get as little reflective glare out of the glass as possible an dI’d still like to go back and try again.

I know that feeling. I took several pictures of a place in my town to use for a post, but the sun was low and the shadows are very stark. I decided that I need to go back in the afternoon someday and get better ones.

Love the color and the trim work, and the size of the glass panels is interesting. 🙂

Thanks Judy. Yeah I find it’s a little heavy on the trim work. It really gives the entryway an austere, almost maculine look

They certainly make a big statement and I confess I can’t help liking the black and all those classical influences 🙂

Yes, I think that big statement was what they were going for, and the all-black look is the final touch 🙂
