Okay I’ll be the first to admit that this one is more of a gate, but since it has a twist handle I’ve decided to call it a door 🙂
I shot this one while in Queens, NY last fall. The neighborhood where we stayed was a strange mix of residential and small commercial/industrial buildings.
One of the trends we saw on a few of the residential streets was property owners who tried to fancy-up the front of their duplexes and row houses; not an easy thing to do when your small front yard is asphalt or paving stone.
In this case it seems no expense was spared on the fence and balcony railings. It looked like chrome plating or some similar treatment was used:

Oh my that is one serious door! Do you suppose someone shines it daily?

I think so😀 for some reason I imagine a little old retired guy out there every morning at 6 am with a buffing rag.

Such a great gate/door. I have a rather unusual door for this week. I hope it works for you.

I’m totally counting this Norm for two reasons: 1) it’s a great picture and 2) I have a similar photo queued-up for a future post. You’ve established a precedent, so I’m good to go.

I can just about make out a door in the background, so gate or door, you’ve still got a door in the picture Norm.
