Here are my answers to Cee’s weekly prompt: Share Your World – Week 12
When was the last time you sat on a park or garden bench for more than ten minutes? Describe the occasion.
It was just this past fall. We were taking a walk in a local nature park I go to often to take pictures. There was a group of ducks all together at one end of the pond so we just sat there and watched them for a while.
This is the place in fall:
And again in winter:
Would you ever be interested in observing a surgery or do you turn away when the nurse brings out the needle?
I’m not the least bit squeamish and I’ve always been fascinated by how things work, especially the human machine, so yes absolutely.
I’d love to see a heart surgery in particular but maybe that’s just because I’ve had one myself, and I’d really like to see what goes on in there.
Where’s your favorite place to take out-of-town guests?
Montréal is such a truly wonderful city to show off to visitors. We love taking out-of-towners around every chance we get, and it gives us the opportunity to play tourists in our own town.
It really depends on what sort of things our guests like to do. Be it fine dining, nature, culture, history, architecture, people watching, night life.
In the summer there’s the Formula One Grand Prix, a major tennis tournament, the Jazz Festival, Comedy Festival, various Film Festivals, and even a summer-long Fireworks Festival – we really are spoiled.
Two of my personal favorites mostly for the impressive architecture are the Notre Dame Basillica, in Old Montréal, and St. Joseph’s Oratory on Mount Royal.
If you had an unlimited shopping spree at only one store, which one would you choose? Why?
There’s a local camera store that would be very happy to see me if I had an unlimited shopping spree.
Why? Because I love photography and well…there’s toys there! 😀
Bonus question: What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?
Last week daytime temperatures finally started climbing up above freezing around here and that alone has everybody in a much better mood.
Next week will be a short one. I’ll get a chance to relax a bit and enjoy the long Easter weekend and hopefully spend time with family and friends.
Thank you for reading 🙂
Your “place” looks very cold and that loan skater is very brave to be out there on the ice – with no one to rescue him in case of emergency!
Being a guest in your home sounds like fun!

I don’t think the pond is that deep, but at that time of year there’s no danger. The ice was probably a good 18″ thick.

Thanks. In a few weeks when the snow melts and the trees start to bud I’ll go back and take a spring shot from the same spot.
If you do make it out our way let me know and we’ll show you around 🙂
