Here’s my entry for the Weekly Photo Challenge – Wall.
This series of pics was taken on a recent visit to Montmorency Falls just outside of Québec City. At 84 meters (274 feet) these are the tallest falls in the Province of Québec.
In summer the falls are a very popular tourist destination with thousands of daily visitors admiring the view from a number of look-out points.
In winter the river freezes over, as does all but the fastest moving portion of the falls, creating spectacular walls of ice.
For climbing enthusiasts these ice walls are an irresistable challenge that attracts ice climbers from all over eastern North America and the rest of the world.
Personally I think these people are insane. Hanging from a wall of ice held in place by a fastener and a piece of rope is definitely not for me, but their passion sure makes for great photography.
Here are some my favorites and please feel free to let me know which ones you like best:
Thank you for looking 🙂
