Thanks. Yes we sat there for about an hour and marvelled at how the waves just kept coming and pounding away at the shore.

Thanks. Other than getting low I don’t think I did anything special on this shot.
It was the tail end of a hurricane so Mother Nature did most of the work.

🙂 I have no clue why water is hard to shoot.

Not sure. It depends on what the problem is with your results and also your camera model. Sometimes the lack of contrast between the water and the sky causes the camera to meter what it sees incorrectly, and either under or overexpose. My Nikon has a tendency to under-expose, it drives me nuts if I forget to compensate. It can be annoying/tricky until you figure it out.
