Festival Of Leaves – Week 5

Here is my entry for Festival of Leaves – Week 5

I snapped these in our backyard here just north of Montréal.

The colors are at their peak but over half of the leaves are on the ground now 😦

Here’s another early morning shot about 2-1/2 weeks ago of the same maple tree

Now if you’ll excuse me, it looks like I have some raking to do…

As always, thanks for looking 🙂

  1. So pretty….and then so much hard work! Will you compost the leaves Norm?

    • Norm 2.0 says:

Yes, it makes for a lot of leaves. We compost about half ourselves, which makes great food for our summer vegetable garden.
Our local municipality has a composting program and will pick up the rest.
      Thanks for stopping by 🙂

Cette année les couleurs sont présente plus longtemps qu’habituellement nous donnant un spectacle plus long et assez impressionnant par moment

  3. I see – rakes, blowers, mowers, sweepers, bags, compost bins, trailers, recycling centers, etc. in your future. Mine future looks the same. 😦

For us it’s pretty much rakes, compost bin, and bags. We’ll do a bit today but the bulk will get done next weekend. Unless I can flag down a neighborhood kid who’s interest in making a few bucks to do it for us 😛
      Happy raking!
