      Hi Judy thanks for your interest!
      I think this door is more decorative than actually functional.
      Imagine a row of townhouses (or maybe condos) with normal up/down style single car garage doors, and then in middle of them all: this one.
      I think the owner had converted their garage into living space and an actual garage door was no longer needed. But instead of filling the opening where the garage door had been with brick, they decided to get cute.
      It was so cool – I had to stop and snap a few pics.
